Obama is better for Jinnah's Pakistan

On the one hand we have the charismatic and eloquent Obama, who most Pakistanis have taken a strong liking to because he promises a break with what are generally conceived by the common people here as pro-military dictatorship policies of the Grand Old Party. But Obama has also engaged in rhetoric that scares most Pakistanis. The idea of a US attack on NWFP... [more]

Why is it considered cool to be disobedient/rebellious to parents and religion? The Muslim society in North America is promoting double standards. Parents behave one way, and their Kids are just the opposite. Is there any normal family out there where parents and kids are on the same page and they are not all bunch of pretenders? Does the new generation not owe its success...

So we thought we need to be part of the victory dance where the mullahs are getting shown their place by the forces and we thought we should take my daughter along so the cops can see us as non-enemy combatants, sort of use her as child sheild. We got to G6 close to the infamous Lal Masjid up until the cordoned walls of the mosque where a bunch of over aged adolescents are holding women and children hostage to further their dreams of undoing the state in Pakistan and establishing a khilafat. I talked to the troops nearby who...[more]

If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?
